The Climate Change Response Act 2002

The Climate Change Response Act (CCRA) was passed in 2002 in recognition of New Zealand's obligations under the Kyoto Protocol and it establishes the national registry system. The CCRA follows the decisions of the Parties to the Protocol on the requirements for registry systems. This Act was amended on 7 December 2009 by the Climate Change Response (Moderated Emissions Trading) Amendment Act.
